NORDICIE Code of Conduct:
Ethical Sourcing, Compliance, and Circularity

Our primary environmental impacts stem from raw material procurement, such as sourcing wood globally, coupled with long transport distances and labor challenges in the origin countries. In response, our strategy includes:

  • Demanding environmental and labor rights documentation from our partners, where possible.
  • Ensuring compliance with chemical substance regulations, including REACH, and avoiding products containing Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC).
  • Encouraging sustainable sourcing and the use of certified products.
  • Expanding our collection of sustainable product solutions.
  • Promoting circular economy initiatives, including recycling and product lifecycle management.

We remain proactive in adhering to and anticipating relevant legislation.

We believe all our business partners play a crucial role in advancing sustainability. To support informed decision-making, we have developed this Code of Conduct and supporting guidelines.

All NORDICIE employees and partners—including suppliers, dealers, and consultants—are expected to uphold high ethical standards in accordance with this Code of Conduct in all their dealings with NORDICIE.

We expect that our employees and partners at all times comply with local and international legislation. This Code of Conduct is based on the UN Global Compact’s 10 principles, which are based on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the International Labor Organizations Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work, the RIO Declaration on Environment and Development, and the United Nations Convention against Corruption.

In addition, our principles will always be based on our internal NORDICIE values. Our internal values—Trustworthiness, Respect, Development, Cooperation, and Commitment—also guide our actions.

This Code ensures that our partners produce and deliver services with respect for environmental and labor rights throughout their value chains.

  • 1. Freedom of Association and Collective Bargaining: Partners must uphold the rights of employees to organize freely and engage in collective bargaining.
  • 2. No Forced Labor: Partners must not engage in or benefit from forced labor in any form, including withholding employee documents or wages to restrict freedom of movement.
  • 3. No Child Labor: Partners must comply with local labor laws regarding the employment of children and ensure that any young workers are treated in accordance with legal protections.
  • 4. Health & Safety: Partners must provide a safe working environment, with access to necessary safety equipment and training.
  • 5. Fair Wages and Working Conditions: Employees must be paid at least the legal minimum wage, and working hours should comply with local legislation. Mental or physical abuse is strictly prohibited.
  • 6. Zero Tolerance for Discrimination: We do not tolerate discrimination based on race, gender, age, religion, nationality, or any other characteristic.

NORDICIE has a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption, bribery, or any form of unethical conduct. We expect all business partners to maintain fair competition, uphold the integrity of financial transactions, and respect confidentiality and intellectual property rights.

  • Zero Tolerance for Bribery and Corruption: No bribery, extortion, or improper payments are allowed.
  • GDPR Compliance: Partners must comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and respect data privacy standards.

Acceptance of this Code of Conduct is a mandatory part of our partner approval process. Partners must confirm their compliance via the NORDICIE Supplier Declaration, which includes social, environmental, and economic responsibility commitments.

NORDICIE reserves the right to inspect partners to ensure compliance with this Code. Any non-compliance will be addressed with an action plan and timeline for corrective measures. In the event that issues remain unresolved, NORDICIE reserves the right to terminate the partnership.

We encourage the reporting of any unethical behavior or practices observed during dealings with NORDICIE. We see this as an opportunity for continuous improvement.

This Code of Conduct is approved by NORDICIE’s Board of Directors and is managed by NORDICIE’s leadership. Compliance, implementation, and ongoing monitoring are essential to ensure the effectiveness of this Code. The management team reports to the Board at least annually, providing updates and recommending corrective actions where necessary.
